We were able to bypass the governor on a non hemi predator 212 using only a small zip tie. This is by far the easiest governor solution. Use an impact and it'll go right in on both the governor arm hole and the pressed in shaft hole (no need for a tap) you can knock the shaft out with a punch going in towards the block. You don't need to remove the gear. It all comes out as one. Use a 7/16×20 or 7/16×14 tap for the oil sensor hole. You MUST open up the motor and remove the inner governor. It is VERY easy to do. The reason you must is there is a PLASTIC gear inside that controls the governor.
On the Predator 212 engines, it is set to limit the engine to 3600 RPMs. Taking out the governor will not give you more "power". It will only allow the engine to run more RPMs. Since on a minibike, the engine RPMs are directly related to top speed of the bike, running the engine faster will make the bike faster.
