EDIT: If you look at the comments on the steam page for psionic synths, the dev already knows it's an issue. ok, I found a solution, through commands you have to remove the gestalt consciousness ethic before you use a command to research psionic theory, then you can re-add the gestalt ethic and you will still have the psionic theory effect active.
