Make sure you have positive strength and/or max heat. Spam Fire Blast many times. See that it does nothing to the Acolyte's armor. Also, the LOS check for fire blast is badly bugged. Blast is pretty much a useless combo element… widely considered the worst one in the game. Fire Blast is chosen because it's the easiest ability to weave into the build without having to run augments or use a ridiculous amount of ability strength. Shuriken is another good option but you need to either replace one of the ability strength mods and drop Power Drift by a few ranks or sub in a few cheaper survivability mods.

Subsumed Fire blast have max cap at 75% so it need 6 casts to completely strip armor as the value get low enough the game round it down to 0, but a few casts should reduce significantly enough armor. Ash's Seeking Shuriken scale up with power strength, with just 130% power strength you can reach 0 armor in about 3 casts but only up to 2 targets.
