The M&P revolver was made in .38 S&W from 1936 until 1965. After 1957, the .38 S&W M&P was known as the Model 11. The 60-1 marked guns started in 1972.Open the cylinder, and look at the stampings in the frame; it should say "MOD 30-1". If there are numbers above or below this stamping, they are just factory assembly numbers. The side of the barrel should be stamped "32 S&W Long". It clearly looks like a capital "I" and not a "1" and is in the fourth position.
