In the marry me serana you ask her to marry you and it goes much like it does with everyone else. You can assign her to a house, adopt kids who will talk with her, etc. but if you marry her through the dialogue add on you can’t do the other stuff you would usually be able to do with a spouse. You can only choose to do one or the other.

I always thought of Serana, as a tech demo of what the follower system was capable of, in that sense she is very much, "not like other girls" in that she is smarter and more reactive. I run a load of Serana mods, specifically ones that deal with the hood, and make her better and more capable in combat.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes. I she does get annoying after a while only if you do not change how often she talks, you can edit almost everything. I would stick with sofia over serana. To me knowing she has things to say about 80% of the things u are gonna do is great.
