I recently purchased an older Marlin 39. It is the HS variety of the model 39, but upon removal of the bolt I discovered the firing pin is broken. The retaining pin would just fall out if the gun was opened and turned upside down. The fireing pin seems loose and will go back and forth about a 1/4 inch. This may be normal but I just can't remember. The gun went back together fine and fires properly.
