13 posts · Joined 2008. #1 · Jul 23, 2013. yesterday, tried starting the car but it only cranks. i needed to step on/modulate the gas pedal for it to start. once it started, it ran a bit rough at idle for maybe 30 seconds to 1 min. this am, i tried starting it and it started like usual, on its own. didn't need to step on the gas.If there is no power, test the Black/White wire off the ignition switch and also look for aftermarket security system. 2. If there is power on 2 of the 4 terminals, verify the transmission range switch is grounding the Blue/White wire to ground the starter cut relay in the park or neutral position. 3.I drove home, 45 min, and parked. Turned off the car and tried to start it and the problem happened. I tried to turn the car on a second time. Nothing. A third time and it slowely cranked, and started. It's baffling.
