I have a .50 cal Optima V2 and it's all I'd ever need in an inline muzzleloader. I've used 200 TC shockwaves over 100 gr BH 209. When hunting where bear would also be in season, I've used 300 gr Hornady SST over 110 gr of BH 209. Usable 100 yard accuracy from both. The 300 gr Hornady really flattens small deer.With that said, the Wolf V2 has a one-inch length of pull and adjustable rubber spacer, which is similar to the CVA Cascade centerfire rifle. BUT .... the CVA Wolf is still a great ML with a very good price point. I will be upgrading in the fall of 2015 - maybe this year if I sell my Wolf. One more thing which is just as important as the ML.I find myself wondering if there's something better then a CVA inline. I think they've got a great marketing campaign, but after using an Optima V2 for several seasons since 2018, I am unimpressed. Biggest issue I've with mine is, I think, the hammer sear.
