He also mentioned that Sig didn’t stamp serial numbers on both sides but I think that part of things was above his knowledge pay grade. As a general rule he is correct but this topic is outside of the “general rule” realm.

Being a P220 Compact I believe it should still follow the P220 sequence. It should have a "G" prefix, and six digit number. In this case it has 7 digits, but no visible prefix.
