The proper way to dry fire a PF-9 would be to load a snap cap, aim, pull the trigger, pull the slide about 1/4" back until you feel and hear the hammer engage the half-cock notch, release the slide and repeat. The problem is when putting it back together, the slide goes on nice and smooth I lock the slide back and insert the pin, release the slide, the slide doesn't go all the way forward.1) Lock back your slide. Remove magazine. 2) Lay gun on right side on padding or newspaper. PF9 Extractor Issue Resolved. My PF9 started to exhibit the famous FTE problem we have read about on this forum. I called KT and they sent out a new extractor, spring and button screw on their dime. I found the original button screw a bit loose so that was probably the reason for the FTE I had suddenly come across after about 100 rounds.
