It would make more sense to me to either. a) have a quest to reclaim your honour and renew your devotion to the oath. or. b) require an actual sacrifice, like taking a permanent hit to hp or a small penalty to hit chance. Something that hurts (therefore serving as an actual sacrifice) without breaking game balance.
