I keep posting a less than five star review of my JRA m14 on Classic Firearms, but it gets taken down within a day or two every time. Can’t think of any reason for why they would delete my reviews other than the fact that they’re not five stars. So for about $250-$300 more (or so) compared to the Springfield Scout Squad with the walnut stock, one can purchase a rifle with forged compared to cast components (if that is important to one) and can "buy local." That being said, I have a regular JRA M14 and I wouldn't trade it for one of the welded ones. I think the real M14 heal is cool for a collector, but as a shooter I like the solid, one piece forging of my receiver. I have no data on the welded M14 receivers, so they may prove to be just as reliable as mine. I just prefer to eliminate variables.
