Many of you suggested that I raise the RPMs to 3600. So I did and it made a big difference. Before if you engaged the blade too fast, it would stall the engine. The mower also cuts tall grass easier, and leaves a better cut. The engine speed with out the blade engaged is 3600-3630 RPM. With blade engaged it's 3400-3440 RPM.Some reviews say it stalls out when trying to engage the blades. Because the lawn owners often do it too quickly. But the Toro Timemaster instruction says to engage the blades slowly for a smooth transition. That lets the blade engage and cut effectively. The blades fail to engage. Like the title suggests, I've got an odd problem with my timemaster. I noticed that it was insanely loud the other day when I engaged the blades. The mower is pretty new, it has less than 30 hours on it. So I popped off the deck cover to take a look and it appears that the drive belt and arm brake are shaking pretty bad when the blades are engaged.

I just picked up the TimeMaster 30 yesterday. I have had 2 other Toro mowers in the past and loved them, so when I saw the 30", I had to have it. The one problem is the engin, when blades not engaged, does not seem to run smooth, it like flutters, high low, high low... I've only mowed with it once, for about 1.5 hours.
