Once all the jobs are done, recruit is ready for some fighting in the field (usually at dust raider level) - with maybe supervision of one or two experienced characters. After few fights they are usually good to go (depending again on your goals, location etc.). I try to make training somewhat less grindy and easy to put recruits through.
