Noticed yesterday that the jeep was running really hot, hot enough actually to make the idiot chime tell me to look at the gauges. When I started actually paying close attention to it the needle was staying at the third little hash mark on the gauge (so technical right). It was not my intent to dredge up all the old transmission temperature issues on the JK. I only wanted to know the temperature setting of the Trans Hot Oil Light. I have an aux trans oil cooler installed. A rich air.fuel mixture will give an O2 out of spec fault; however, the problem could be the IAC valve not working and making the fuel rich and giving an out of spec reading setting off the code. Along these lines you could also have a bad fuel pressure regulator.

JK running hot. My GF’s 2012 started getting hot this spring. Cel came on for oil pressure sensor a month or so before the heating issues started. Once it started getting hot, she had the oil filter housing and sensor replaced. That took care of the cel but the Jeep still gets hot. The hot oil warning is not for engine oil, it's for the automatic transmission. Check your transmission fluid level and condition. Also check for any obstruction of the transmission cooler.
