Ruger security 9 slide stuck.

The safety on the SEC 9 pivots from the front of the safety so you have to push up and down on the rear of the lever to engage it. To put the safety on use your support hand because you're done shooting and it doesn't matter which hand you use. Don't try to be mr.cool like the gun reviewers it's ok to use two hands.After removing the firing pin and cleaning the channel. simply wipe the firing lightly with a cloth with a drop or two of oil on it. Oil collects dirt and that dirt will eventually gum up the firing pin. I'd pull the Security 9 apart and re clean the channel before I'd send it back to Ruger.It seems I'm having this issue every time I strip the gun. It seems like the recoil spring pops out of the spot it sits on the barrel when I push the slide back to put the takedown pin back in. Aug 21, 2021 · Problems with Max 9. Today was the second time I was able to take my new Max 9 out to the range. The first time I did, the slide wasn't able to return to battery via slingshoting it. But I couldn't get anything to move at all. Couldn't take down the gun at all because the pin is inaccessible with the slide stuck in that position. Talk about a helpless feeling. Then Push the slide forward while dry firing it a number of times. This should work. Also do the same procedure with a mag in. Keep trying this and it should release. This is a common issue. The First Round Fired is the most critical.It results in a clean gun every time! And, save your money - you do not need to buy patches. Old tee shirts cut to size work great and are free. Step one, clean everything with dry patches (I use old t shirts to make my own free patches!). Step two, clean the inside of the bore with bronze brush and bore cleaner.

My 11th round jammed while cycling into the chamber. I cant get it to clear. I dropped the mag and when I pull the slide back the entire barrel comes back with the slide. It probably required a MM or less of material removal. You caould also probably slightly file the thumb lever itself, but it would need to be removed. Rack it again, and the round goes to eject, but gets jammed at an angle and takes a good bit of work to get the round out. Either that, or the round gets stuck completely sideways in the gun.
