I believe it needs the other 2 wires hooked up for the body computer to know if the lid's open or closed, or if it's in 'lock' or 'unlock' position. I can see the straps on the back of the seats, but pulling them up and trying to fold the seat down doesn't work, as the seat seems to be locked in place. You cannot get to it from under the bumper because the locking mechanism is in the trunk lid. There is one suspicious hole in the lid trim liner, so I may investigate further. The correct way to unhook a battery in any vehicle: disconnect the negative cable first then the positive cable last. to reconnect: positive cable first, then negative cable.
