Car is a 86 regal , 8.50 cert , big 10 bolt 4.10 gears and th400. Thinking about goin lq9 6.0 stock bottom end, now my question is what should I go with for heads and cam ?This gives a false sense of capability when it comes to how much the motor can handle. (i.e. the true dyno number might be 820 hp and 550 lbs of torque but corrected it's 985 hp and 630 lbs of torque). Can the motor actually handle 985/630? Who knows, but sitting on a dyno, with perfect fuel and ideal use, it's just fine.

But some were rated higher depending on it's application. 1989 was not a high horsepower maybe 230 or torque motor if I recall correctly.
