I've currently got half my fortress resting in the hospital, I think my problem was having orderlies set to specific dwarfs, who got mauled by my very good surgeon and ended up resting in the hospital themselfs, so noone got sutured or bandaged, things seem to be moving now I've set orderlies to everyone. Only dwarves with Masonry enabled will work on it, then. (Unless you're building it out of wood, or metal, which will need Carpenters or Blacksmiths.) If you turn hauling (and any other relevant labours) off for all masonry-enabled dwarves, they will be much more focused on building. fyi.

There IS currently a bug in dwarf fortress. The mini labor screen when you click on hospital details does not work the same as the primary labor screen. The primary labor screen updates all your dwarves labors every single time you change even one dwarf. The hospital labor screen DOES NOT do this. so if you just assign a doctor nothing has ...
